After reaching the Trivandrum Railway station you can take a train to Paravur (PVU) or even Kollam Railway station (QLN). If you are choosing to drop at Paravur Railway station (PVU), it takes only 15 to 20 minutes to reach Nedungolam. You can choose an Auto rickshaw or Taxi from Paravur. Auto rickshaw costs around INR 100 – 200 and taxi cost ranges from INR 150 -300.
If you choose to drop at Kollam Railway station (QLN), then you can take a bus or you have to take another train to paravur. Taking a bus from kollam to paravur takes 45 to 1 hr and the bus rates ranges from 50 -100 per head.If you are choosing to take train from kollam railway station to paravur, it takes 20 – 30 minutes and costs around INR 30 -100 per person. In both the cases you have to take an auto rickshaw or taxi again from paravur to Nedungolam which again costs INR 150 -300.
By Bus: If you are choosing to travel by bus to paravur from Trivandrum Airport, first you have to reach Trivandrum bus station which is located in Thampanoor. You may take a bus to Kollam where paravur is a stop on the way to kollam bus station. You can take a ticket to paravur and ask the ticket man to drop you at paravur stop so that you will don’t miss the location. Taking a bus to paravur cost ranges from INR 100 -200 .Once you reach paravur , you may choose an auto-rickshaw or taxi to reach Nedungolam where Varkala Mangrove Forest is located, which again will cost you INR 150 – 300.
